SwampDogs Drown Sharks 8-1

The SwampDogs beat the Wilmington Sharks on Friday night 8-1.  The SwampDogs stayed hot, winning their fifth straight and sixth in seven games.  In those six wins the SwampDogs have outscored their opponents by a combined 43 runs to four.

The SwampDogs scored in the second inning on back to back home runs by Nathan Dill and JoJo Allen.  That made the score 2-0.

The 'Dogs took that lead into the fifth inning and scored four runs, as they sent 10 guys to bat in the inning.  That made the game 6-0.  They would add a run in the sixth and seventh and lead 8-0 after eight innings.

The Sharks scored their lone run in the ninth on a throwing error.  The pitching staff was lights out for the SwampDogs once again as new comer, Taylor Boisclair and Justin Ruble pitched three innings each.  Anthony Ethington, Ryan Fisch and Adam Erickson all pitched one inning.  The pitching staff combined for 10 strikeouts, while allowing one run (unearned), seven hits and only walking four.

The night was capped off by a spectacular fireworks extravaganza, that gave the fans a final regular season home game in 2019 to remember.  The fans cheered as the SwampDogs fired off one of the biggest fireworks displays in recent memory.

The SwampDogs finish the regular season tomorrow in Wilmington.  They will then travel to Morehead City on Sunday night to face the Marlins in a one game playoff.  That game will get started at 7:00 and can be viewed on, as the SwampDogs will look to advance in the 2019 playoffs.
