Bartels And McGeehan Each Hit Three-Run Bombs; SwampDogs Top Asheboro 10-4

The SwampDogs topped the Asheboro Copperheads on a Father's Day home matchup by a score of 10-4.  After falling behind 1-0 in the top of the first, the SwampDogs responded with a three-run homer off the bat of Carson Bartels.  The blast was Bartels' fourth of the year.

The SwampDogs added a run in the second inning and another in the fifth.  After the Copperheads were able to get within a run in the seventh inning the SwampDogs added two of their own in the home half on back-to-back triples by Cole Swiger and Nick BarnesSean McGeehan added a three-run home run of his own in the eighth inning to increase the lead.  The back half of the SwampDogs bullpen was able to close out the game to preserve the win.  The SwampDogs improved to 7-7 on the season.

The SwampDogs next home game is Tuesday as they host the Florence RedWolves.  It is Special Olympics Night, as the SwampDogs will honor some amazing athletes.  It is also Tattoos-Day, presented by New Addiction Tattoos.  Gates open at 6:00 and first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
