The SwampDogs hosted their first movie night on Saturday presented by Hot Sugar Pop and it came with some fanfare. The movie was Rookie Of The Year, starring Thomas Ian Nicholas and Thomas made the journey to Fayetteville to meet the fans. Due to weather moving in and out, the venue had been changed to 1-95 Muscle, but that didn't stop the fun.
Thomas signed autographs for every fan, took photos and then participated in a Q &A. He also had some fun looking and driving some of the cars I-95 Muscle. Thomas capped off the night by performing a concert at Paddy's Irish Pub, where he gave a lot of love to the SwampDogs.
"When I found out the SwampDogs would be hosting Spring Movies in the Swamp, I knew my family and I would be there. Even better, they had invited the star of "Rookie of the Year," Thomas Ian Nicholas, to be a part of this special movie screening", said Jenny Bell from the Fayetteville Area Canvention and Visitors Bureau. "We thoroughly enjoyed an afternoon with this actor--taking pictures, participating in the Q&A, and chowing down on popcorn and wings. You better believe we'll be returning for the second movie night in May."
"This was an opportunity for us to host a community event and make it special for our fans", said SwampDogs Assistant General Manager, Clint Narramore. "Thomas was extremely gracious and a pleasure to work with. I cannot wait for our next movie night!"
The SwampDogs will host another movie night on May 11th. They will screen The Sandlot. The SwampDogs will make a blockbuster announcement to the general public regarding that tonight, but those who attended on Saturday night were the first to hear it.
