SwampDogs, Jersey Mike's Team Up To Deliver Lunch To Airport Workers

The Fayetteville SwampDogs teamed up with Jersey Mike's on Boone Trail, last Friday, to deliver lunch to Fayetteville Regional Airport. The lunches went to employees working in the control tower who continue to work, despite receiving no pay. The latest government shutdown has forced many federal employees in Cumberland County to go to work without pay. SwampDogs Front Office staff decided to show their appreciation for these workers and teamed up with Jersey Mike's on Boone Trail.
Jersey Mike's provided bagged lunches for all control tower workers, delivered by Swampdogs team mascot, Fun-Go. Lunches contained a sandwich, cookie, bag of chips and bottle of water. The members of the airport staff posed for pictures with Fun-Go and gave him a tour of the Control Tower.
"It's an honor to be able to give back to the community in an unfortunate time. To have great partners like Jersey Mike's and the airport shows truly how a community should come together," Swampdogs General Manager, Jeremy Aagard said.
Those who received lunch were grateful from the visit and food.
"We'd like to thank Fayetteville Swampdogs and Jersey Mike's for their show of support today," said James Milesky, Fayetteville National Air Traffic Controllers Association. "Their outreach really means a lot and helps to lift our spirits as we continue to work through the shutdown."
