While Opening Day isn't until Tuesday, Saturday marked another step in the march to summer as players reported to The Swamp.
"We're excited to get our 18th season underway," said general manager Jeremy Aagard. "We're proud of the community support that continues year after year and we look forward to putting on the best show possible this summer."
After arriving in Fayetteville, this year's cast of SwampDogs met the front office and coaching staff and got acquainted with their new home at J.P. Riddle Stadium. It didn't take long for the team building to begin, as the team welcomed players and their host families to The Swamp with some of summer's timeless classics: burgers and hot dogs.
"The host families are the backbone of our organization, and it's truly a pleasurable experience to grow our SwampDogs family and get the season started on the right foot," Aagard said.
The 18th summer of fun is so close you can almost taste it! Be sure to head on down to The Swamp to catch the opener Tuesday night against Roanoke.
