SwampDogs bring in Two-Way Terror

The Fayetteville SwampDogs are pleased to announce the signing of Daniel Martinez to the 2018 roster.

Martinez comes to the SwampDogs from Riverside City College in California, where he is in the midst of his sophomore year after transferring from the University of California, Riverside. Martinez has been stellar thus far in 2018 on the mound and in the batter's box, earning Southern California Player of the week honors from the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association in early February.

As a pitcher, the 5-11, 185 lb. right-hander leads the Tigers with 15 starts, seven wins, 89.2 innings pitched, and 77 strikeouts. He also has added one save in three appearances out of the bullpen and boasts a 2.51 ERA on the season.

Martinez has also been terrific at the plate this year, with a .297 batting average and three home runs. The left-handed hitter has batted in all 44 games, starting in the infield on days when he is not scheduled to pitch.

The SwampDogs are thrilled to have a versatile talent like Martinez for the 2018 season, which begins May 29 at The Swamp.
