SwampDogs Announce First Signee of 2018

The Fayetteville SwampDogs are pleased to announce Josh Hejka as the first player to be signed for the 2018 season.

A junior at Johns Hopkins University, Hejka returns for his second season at The Swamp. The Dearborn, Michigan native pitched in two games for the SwampDogs in 2016, compiling a 1-0 record over 7.1 innings of work.

The 5-11, 160 lb right-hander was stellar last year at Johns Hopkins, leading the Blue Jays with 6 saves in 17 appearances out of the bullpen. He also picked up 4 wins on the season and posted an earned run average of just 2.04, earning First-Team All-Centennial Conference honors.

The SwampDogs are thrilled to have Hejka back this summer as the team enters its 18th season in the Coastal Plain League. The pursuit of the Petitt Cup begins Tuesday, May 29, at The Swamp.
