SwampDogs Add Plethora of Peach State Pitchers

The Fayetteville SwampDogs are pleased to announce the signing of Middle Georgia State University pitchers Jared Crews, Logan Carter and Austin Goff for the 2018 season.

Crews just finished his senior season at Middle Georgia State after transferring from South Georgia State College. The 5-9, 180 lb. native of Sanderson, Fla. has the ability to pitch and play shortstop, although he worked almost exclusively as a pitcher in 2018. In 77 innings this year. the right-hander had a 6-3 record and 3.39 ERA along with a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 55:29.

Carter comes to Fayetteville after a solid sophomore campaign that saw him go 2-1 with one save in 12 appearances out of the bullpen. The 6-0, 165 lb. left-hander from Cordele, Ga. had a 3.94 ERA and held opposing hitters to a 2.14 batting average.

Goff leaves Middle Georgia State coming off a senior season in which he served as one of the top relievers for the Knights. Over the course of 66.2 innings and 23 appearances, the left-hander tallied a 9-1 record, one save and a 4.32 ERA. The Kennesaw, Ga. native was especially sharp within the Southern States Athletic Conference, earning First-Team All-Conference honors with a 9-0 mark and 3.24 ERA.

Crews, Carter and Goff will be part of a strong group of pitchers for the SwampDogs this summer. The season is just two days away, so be sure to order your tickets now for the home opener Tuesday night.
