FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – For the third straight week, the SwampDogs had the best arm in the Coastal Plain League. Following Nick Ernst’s (Miami-Ohio) and Griffin McLarty’s (College of Charleston) selections the past two weeks, Zach Neff (Austin Peay) was selected as the CPL’s best pitcher following his dominant performance against the RedWolves which clinched the first half’s East Division Title. Neff carried the SwampDogs with 14 strikeouts in the complete game, 7-inning performance in the second game of a doubleheader. In the victory, Neff allowed just two hits. In Neff’s first start week, the SwampDogs’ lefty went 4.2 Innings allowing just one earned run with 9 strikeouts and just three hits.
The SwampDogs return to The Swamp on Thursday for their annual Summer Spooktacular against the Wilmington Sharks. First pitch is at 7:05 with the gates opening at 6.
