Tonight’s Game Pushed Back to Saturday

The rain continues to cause problems throughout the Coastal Plain League and tonight’s game between the Fayetteville SwampDogs and the Wilson Tobs has been postponed.

The game will be made up as a double header on Saturday night at “The Swamp” starting at 6:05 p.m. The night will consist of two, seven-inning games and there will be a twenty-minute break between the two games.

The first 500 fans will receive a camo cinch sack from our sponsor at Cape Fear Orthopedic. Saturday night will also be Hope Mills Chamber Night, Home Based Business Night, and NC State Night. Don’t miss any more of the 2013 Summer of Fun at “The Swamp.” Get your box seats now by calling the office at (910) 426-5900.

The Coastal Plain League is the nation’s hottest summer collegiate baseball league. Celebrating its 17th season in 2013, the CPL features 14 teams playing North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. The CPL gives college players the chance to refine their skills with the use of wooden bats. Players are housed with local host families for the summer and past experiences have been very positive for both players and hosts. Furthermore, the CPL has had over 1,000 alumni drafted and 63 alums – including 2011 AL MVP and Cy Young winner Justin Verlander – make their Major League debut thus far.
