SwampDogs Season Ends Against Sharks

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.    The Fayetteville SwampDogs season came to an end on Wednesday morning at the hands of the Wilmington Sharks in the opening round of the Petitt Cup Playoffs by a score of 13-0.

The SwampDogs clinched a playoff berth by winning the 1st Half East Division Title, however it was the 2nd Half East Division Champions that came away on top at The Swamp thanks to 6 strong innings from Daniel Johnson (College of Charleston) who tossed 6.0 strong innings without allowing a run and allowing just 7 hits while tallying 7 strikeouts and picking up the win to improve to (6-2).

The Sharks were led offensively by Brian Parreira (USC-Aiken) who’s three run homerun in the 6th inning put a bow on the Wilmington victory.

Josh Hedjka (Johns Hopkins) was tagged with the loss dropping the righty to (1-1). The Sharks now advance to face the Edenton Steamers in the East Division Championship Series.
