SwampDogs Host 5th Annual Balls & Strikes Event

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Fayetteville SwampDogs, in partnership with Friendship House Fayetteville hosted the fifth annual Balls and Strikes Event at B&B Lanes. SwampDogs players and coaches bowled alongside supporters of Friendship House Fayetteville. Friendship House Fayetteville will provide housing to young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities while living alongside healthcare professional students, to facilitate intentional, transitional living.

The Fayetteville SwampDogs players were thrilled to spend their off-day with fans, while having fun tossing strikes, and a few gutter balls too, all in support of the local charity. Tara Hinton, Manager of Community Relations and Development for Service Source, which has partnered with Friendship House Fayetteville, said it best when asked the SwampDogs involvement in Fayetteville, “The SwampDogs have been great in our community with helping people with disabilities.”

SwampDogs outfielder Jay Robinson was excited to be spending his off-day giving back to the community he plays for describing the event as fun while also stating, “it’s always nice when you can help people.”

The SwampDogs remain committed to helping the greater Fayetteville community as much as possible, continuing the organization’s commitment to not only providing a fun experience at The Swamp but also giving back to those in need here in Fayetteville.

The next SwampDog’s community event takes place on July 21st when The SwampDogs, in partnership with the Fayetteville Walk to End Alzheimer’s, present Bringing Memories Home Safe. The SwampDogs will don purple jerseys to be auctioned off at the conclusion of the game with all proceeds going towards the Alzheimer’s Association

The SwampDogs return to The Swamp on Wednesday for Super Hero night against the Morehead City Marlins. First pitch is at 7:05 with the gates opening at 6.
