SwampDogs Announce 2017 Schedule

The Fayetteville SwampDogs are excited to announce the schedule for a brand new season of collegiate summer baseball in Fayetteville. The SwampDogs will welcome many familiar opponents from the Coastal Plain League East Division along with a few intriguing opponents from the West. The Swamp will open up for our 17th summer campaign on May 30 when we welcome division rival, the Holly Springs Salamanders, to the friendly confines of JP Riddle Stadium.

The SwampDogs compete in the CPL East Division facing off against the Wilmington Sharks, Edenton Steamers, Peninsula Pilots, Morehead City Marlins, Wilson Tobs and Holly Springs Salamanders each season for the first and second-half division championships. The ‘Dogs will become very familiar with Wilmington when they host the Sharks six times throughout the season, the most of any division opponent. Morehead City and Edenton will be welcomed to Fayetteville four times on the home schedule and the Wilson Tobs twice. The SwampDogs will host the defending CPL East champion Peninsula Pilots twice at The Swamp as well.

The majority of the 2017 schedule will consist of divisional games, but a few match-ups with teams from the West division are scattered on the home slate. The 2016 Petitt Cup Champion Savannah Bananas will come to Fayetteville on June 12 for the first time as part of a two-game season series. The SwampDogs will travel to Historic Grayson Stadium in Savannah, Ga. a week later on June 19 to wrap up the series. We will also host the Florence Redwolves four times along with the Martinsville Mustangs for one game. Two exhibition contests are also added to the schedule when the ‘Dogs host the Catawba Valley Stars (June 6) and Methodist University Alumni (July 21).

We are happy and grateful to be entering our 17th season of providing family affordable entertainment to the wonderful community of Fayetteville and beyond.

We are working hard on planning many exciting promotions during each and every home game throughout the season at The Swamp! The full promotion schedule will be released in the near future.
