The Fayetteville SwampDogs have released their 2014 promotional calendar, complete with 32 home games and 32 exciting themes for the upcoming summer of fun at “The Swamp”. Four fireworks extravaganzas, 12 giveaway nights and some of your favorite theme nights, as well as some new themes and promotions, will highlight the 2014 season.
The first fireworks extravaganza of the summer will take place on May 31, with a pre-game demonstration by the U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute team. They will celebrate Military Appreciation Night and the Army’s 239th birthday on June 14th with the second fireworks show of the summer courtesy of Rick Hendrick Toyota and Foxy 99. The BIGGEST fireworks extravaganza of the summer will take place on July 3rd with their Honoring America Tribute courtesy of Hendrick Chrysler Jeep and Disaster One. Gates will open at a special time of 5pm and there will be another pre-game demonstration by the U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Team. The SwampDogs will cap off the end of the season on August 2nd with their final fireworks display for Fan Appreciation Night.
The early bird gets the worm, or in this case an awesome giveaway 12 nights out of the season! Right off the bat, you will be able to plan your summer with a 2014 magnet schedule courtesy of Freeman & Barrett, CPAs for the first 500 fans coming to opening night on May 27 and again on June 2. Thursday, May 29 is the Home Builders Association of Fayetteville membership night that will feature a giveaway to the first 500 fans through the gate. The first 500 fans 21 and over on June 13, July 5 and July 30 will receive giveaways courtesy of our friends at Healy Wholesale. Those items will be a pint glass courtesy of Carolina Blonde; a Red, White & Blue trucker hat courtesy of Coors and another awesome giveaway for Summertime St. Patty’s Day. To celebrate the first official day of summer on June 21, the first 500 fans 21 and over will receive a pint glass courtesy of Budweiser and RA Jeffrey’s Distributing.
The first 500 fans attending Military Appreciation night on June 14 will receive a camo hat giveaway courtesy of Rick Hendrick Toyota and Foxy 99. Green night on June 17 will feature a reusable tote bag giveaway from some of the SwampDogs environmentally friendly partners. If you are looking for a way to keep your face protected from the sun, be one of the first 500 fans through the gate on July 19 to receive a visor courtesy of Cape Fear Orthopedic. Mark your calendars for July 28, which is the 10th annual Fun-Go bobblehead giveaway courtesy of BOB FM 96.5. For a keepsake of the 2014 boys of summer, the first 500 fans on July 30 will receive a team picture giveaway printed by the UPS Store-Westwood/Fort Bragg.
Help the SwampDogs pay tribute to our veterans of all ages on June 6, the 70th anniversary of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy. Spend Father’s Day at “The Swamp” courtesy of Lumbee River EMC on June 15 and enjoy Scout Night with the SwampDogs on June 18. Round up your partners and mosey on down to “The Swamp” on June 19 for Country Night presented by Skip’s Country Cookin’ and Saloon for some Boot Scootin’ fun, line dancing and you might even be able to ride a mechanical bull!
America’s Best will be back in the All-American City as the SwampDogs will USA Baseball’s Collegiate National Team on June 24. Among the current Major Leaguers that played for the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team are Washington Nationals hurler Steven Strasburg, Ryan Howard, Mark Teixeira, Todd Helton and CPL Alumni Justin Verlander and Ryan Zimmerman. This matchup will mark the sixth time in the last eight years the two teams have played each other.
On June 27, fans will have their chance to purchase a one-of-a-kind pink SwampDogs jersey when the SwampDogs have their 8th Annual StriKing Out Cancer Night. The auction is presented by Cape Fear Valley Health System. All proceeds will benefit Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation‘s Friends of the Cancer Center.
In honor of his 58th birthday on July 9, the SwampDogs will celebrate the one-and-only Tom Hanks. On July 10, join the SwampDogs for First Responder’s Night presented by Cape Fear Valley Health System. Help honor the men and women who allow us the freedom to play America’s pastime on July 17 for Salute to the Military presented by Wells Fargo Home Mortgage.
The 2014 promotional schedule also includes theme nights such as Homerun Math Club night, World Cup Kickoff, Scout Night, Social Media Night, Faith and Family Night, 90’s night, Home Based Business Night and Back to School Night. We will also celebrate college theme nights as well as the Fayetteville Regional Chamber of Commerce, Hope Mills Chamber of Commerce, the Spring Lake Chamber of Commerce and the town of Raeford!
The SwampDogs will also have three weekly promotions to salute their loyal fans. New to this season, you can celebrate Mug Mondays at “The Swamp”. Pre-purchase a 16 oz. souvenir mug and bring them to every Monday home game to receive free entry to the Miller Lite Liberty Lounge, plus you can fill them up for only $1! Teachers and students will enjoy 2 Cool For School Tuesdays. Two general admission tickets for the price of one with student or teacher ID! Returning this year is Dunkin’ Donuts Wake-Up Wednesdays. Start your day off at participating Dunkin’ Donuts locations to meet Fun-Go and SwampDogs players.

The Fayetteville SwampDogs are a proud member of the Coastal Plain League, entering their 14th season in the nation’s hottest summer collegiate baseball league. Celebrating its 18th season in 2014, the CPL features 14 teams playing in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. The CPL gives college players the chance to refine their skills with the use of wooden bats. Players are housed with local host families for the summer and past experiences have been very positive for both players and hosts. Furthermore, the CPL has had over 1,100 alumni drafted and 65 alums – including 2011 AL MVP and Cy Young winner Justin Verlander – make their Major League debut thus far.
