FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Fayetteville SwampDogs have added two keen outfielders with astonishing qualities to solidify the outfield in the 2016 season, in a quest to acquire the Petitt Cup. Freshman outfielders, Carter Grote and Frankie Jezioro, both made solid impacts this spring, and are looking to effect the SwampDogs roster largely this summer.

Carter Grote is already setting a steady and strong presence his first year at Furman. The 5-10 outfielder is leading the team in hits (57) and runs (42). With his consistency at the plate Grote’s batting average is sitting heavy with a .328 for the season. This Pittsburg, Pa. native is expected to be a main stay this season in the SwampDogs line up this summer.

From Slippery Rock, Frankie Jezioro also had an exceptional freshman experience. Originating from MacMurray, PA. Jezioro racked up a batting average in the three hundreds with a .310 for the season. Jezioro had 48 hits and 31 runs for the Rocks creating an undeniable presence at the plate. Coupled with his grand batting average, Jezioro showcased his speed on the base paths with nine stolen bags this past season while driving in 22 RBIs. His speed on the bases and in the outfield is sure to shine through for the Dogs this season.
