Season finale vs. Savannah cancelled due to rain

Fayetteville, N.C.— The SwampDogs final contest of the 2016 season against the Savannah Bananas has been cancelled due to unplayable field conditions caused by rain. The game will not be made up and the ‘Dogs 16th season has come to a conclusion. Fayetteville finishes the 2016 campaign with an 18-25 overall record and 8-18 mark in the second half of the summer season. The SwampDogs also ended the first half of the Coastal Plain League season at 10-17 in the East division.

Another amazing summer of exciting Fayetteville SwampDogs baseball is in the books. This season held many great memories that will last a lifetime including; playing host to the 2016 CPL All-Star Game, the organization’s 16th birthday celebration, 10th Annual StriKing Out Cancer event, 12th Annual Family Fun Night, multiple fireworks displays, and multiple fun-filled promotions throughout the course of the summer. The Fayetteville SwampDogs would like to send huge thanks to each of our players and coaches for an awesome 2016 season! We also wish the very best of luck to all of our players as they head back to school in the fall and in their upcoming spring seasons. The ‘Dogs also send utmost wishes to all of our draft-eligible players from this summer as they seek to make their professional baseball dreams become a reality. We are excited to hear your names called in next summer’s Major League Baseball Draft.

Of course we also give a big-time thank you to all of our wonderful Faynatics who came out to the ballpark and supported the SwampDogs all season long! Each and every season would not be possible without your tremendous support. Another huge shout-out goes to our host families who also help make every summer in Fayetteville possible.
