I went to the SwampDogs baseball stadium to interview the players and fans. I started with the players before the game and I interviewed two players. I came back for the game and interviewed four fans. The theme was Super Hero Night. I dressed as Captain America after my interviews. I interviewed the fans by walking up to them and asked them the questions. I had very nice and talkative fans. I am going to start with the players.

Right-handed pitcher Jimmie Davis and Outfielder Derek Gibson

1. How long have you been playing for the SwampDogs?

Mr. Jimmie has been playing for the SwampDogs for three years. This is Mr. Derek Gibson’s first year with the SwampDogs.

2. Is your goal to play Major League Baseball?

They both answered that they want to play in the MLB.

3. Why do you like playing baseball?d

Mr. Jimmie stated that it is a dream all his life. Mr. Derek implied that it is such a fun sport to play.

4. Have you ever played any other sports?

Mr. Jimmie goes to UNC-Pembroke and he played basketball and soccer. Mr. Derek played two years of college football at Southeast Missouri State.

John McRae: Yes

Josiah is an 8-year-old fan: Yes

2. Who is your favorite player?

John McRae: My favorite player is my son, Cameron McRae of the Florence Redwolves.

Fun-Go: I have to say myself.

Grace: I don’t have one yet.

Josiah: I like all the players.

3. Is baseball your favorite sport?

John McRae: Yes

Fun-Go: Yes

Grace: It is my favorite sport to write about

Josiah: Yes.

4. Are you having fun?

All the fans that I talk to answered that they were having such a great time.

Assistant/Pitching Coach Cory Kent

1. How long have you coached this team?

This is Mr. Cory’s first year coaching the SwampDogs and he played for Fayetteville in 2011.

2. Did you like watching baseball when you were a kid?

He said he loves baseball and it is his favorite sport.

3. Did you play baseball in college?

Mr. Cory played four years at Lehigh University 

It was a great experience interviewing the players and fans. Mr. Derek and Mr. Jimmie were very fun to interview. They are very nice people.
