Rooney is the co-captain of Siena and he has quickly emerged as one of the league’s best outfielders, especially thanks to his strong arm, above average speed and .273 career hitting. He batted .258 on the season with 21 RBIs, 32 runs, and nine stolen bases. In 2012, he was a second team All-MAAC and he led the team with a .316 batting average, 10 doubles, two triples, 18 multi-hit games and nine stolen bases in 55 games. Even dating back to freshman year, he was Siena’s everyday rightfielder.
Personal: He was a two-time All-State selection in high school and he played four years of basketball and three years of football. He said if he could be on one TV show he would choose Survivor.
