FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – For the second straight week, the SwampDogs had the best arm in the Coastal Plain League. Following Nick Ernst’s (Miami Ohio) selection last week, Griffin McLarty (College of Charleston) was selected as the CPL’s best pitcher following his win over Wilmington on June 20th. McLarty tossed seven shutout innings while allowing just five hits and striking out 10 improving his record to 3-0 with a 0.84 ERA on the season.
The SwampDogs return to The Swamp on Wednesday for Super Hero night against the Morehead City Marlins. First pitch is at 7:05 with the gates opening at 6. The Coastal Plain League is the nation’s premier summer collegiate baseball league.
