Fun-Go and his friends from the SwampDogs front office were out on the town today for Little League Opening Day. From Hope Mills to Stedman, Eastover to Kiwanis and Stoney Point to Spring Lake youngsters across the region hit the diamond to kick off another season of hardball. Fun-Go was giving high-fives and fist bumps, with a little dancing thrown in, with many teams at numerous ballparks throughout the county. Some lucky players were even lucky enough to see the Golden Knights Parachute Demonstration Team drop into their field!
“Seeing the excitement on everyone’s faces is what makes our jobs so much fun,” said SwampDogs general manager Jeremy Aagard. “This is the next generation of SwampDogs players and to see how anxious they are to hit the field, gets us even more pumped up for our opening day!”
Teams begin play today around the region and boys and girls of all ages are one step closer to being the next Major League Baseball player.
