Double Header Postponed

Tonight’s double header has been postponed until later this month due to inclimate weather. The SwampDogs now have three double headers against Wilson to close out the regular season. Fayetteville squares off against Wilson at home on July 27th. The other two double headers will be played in Wilson, NC on July 22 and August 5.

This rain will go away so be sure to get your tickets for Sunday evening’s game at 5:05 p.m. Tomorrow is also faith and family night at “The Swamp” so come to the ballpark with your friends and fellowship. If you present your Sunday bulletin at the gate, you will receive one dollar off general admission tickets. On Sunday, July 21, the SwampDogs are organizing a charity bowling event to benefit the Cape Fear Valley Health Foundations Friends of Children, Friends of the Cancer Center and Friends of the Heart Center. You can register your team of four right now by clicking on the top banner of our website. The night will include two hours of bowling and fun for just $50 per team and you’ll benefit a great cause! The event is taking place at the B&B Lanes off Fort Bragg Blvd.

The winning bid will receive a game-worn jersey after the game on July 25 and the second place bidder will receive an authentic replica jersey. The Coastal Plain League is the nation’s hottest summer collegiate baseball league. Celebrating its 17th season in 2013, the CPL features 14 teams playing North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. The CPL gives college players the chance to refine their skills with the use of wooden bats. Players are housed with local host families for the summer and past experiences have been very positive for both players and hosts. Furthermore, the CPL has had over 1,000 alumni drafted and 63 alums – including 2011 AL MVP and Cy Young winner Justin Verlander – make their Major League debut thus far.
