Another weekend of college baseball at The Swamp is in the books. Frostburg State University returned for their second weekend, while Rutgers-Newark and The College of New Rochelle were on the schedule for their first visit to Fayetteville.
In true North Carolina style, the weather was amazing! The teams from the Northeast region of the country were welcomed by near 80-degree days and bright sunshine. By the end of the weekend it looked like the weather favored Frostburg more than anyone else. The FSU Bobcats swept through the weekend unscathed with a perfect 3-0 record. Rutgers-Newark ended the set 2-1 with New Rochelle wrapping up 0-3 on the weekend.
Don’t let the weekend wrap up fool you – there’s still plenty of baseball at The Swamp from now until May. Freedom Christian Academy, a local, private school, begins their high school season schedule this week.
The pursuit of the Petitt Cup begins Tuesday, May 29, at The Swamp.
