Three SwampDogs Named to East All-Star Roster

Three Fayetteville SwampDogs have been announced to the 2016 Coastal Plain League All-Star roster for the Eastern Division for Monday’s Game hosted at The Swamp.

Hunter Dolshun (UMBC), David Marriggi (Towson), and Matt Lahn (Lock Haven) will represent the SwampDogs in front of the home crowd on the East roster. Fans can vote to add shortstop Trey Vickers to the roster for the final vote on the Coastal Plain League Website.

Dolshun will be the starting catcher for the East after leading the SwampDogs in home runs (3) and RBIs (16) in the first half. Hitting .317, Dolshun’s power has been a consistent presence in the middle of the lineup all season. He has also been a solid backstop behind the plate.

Marriggi has been one of the most reliable arms out of the bullpen for the SwampDogs. The lefty has only surrendered seven runs in 23.2 innings while striking out 25. His 2.66 ERA is among the best in the league. He has registered two saves.

Lahn earns the nod as a first basemen, hitting .316 with a pair of home runs and twelve RBIs. The Canadian from Georgetown, Ontario has been a versatile option for the SwampDogs but earned the vote because of his consistent swing and ability to drive in runs.
